AS Level Statistics Exam Prep

AS Level Statistics exam preparation course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the key concepts and principles within the subject area.

About the course

Statistics is notorious for being a challenging subject. This is why we have designed the Statistics exam preparation course to help students better understand its concepts and how to perform certain calculations.

Students who have signed up for this course will be able to access an entire year's worth of recorded live lessons, covering everything they will need to know to master the subject of statistics. They will be able to watch each lesson repeatedly to ensure they understand each concept fully.

Every week, students will receive and complete an assignment with questions based on past papers, properly preparing for their forthcoming exam.

Each student will receive individual and personalised feedback on each assignment from an experienced teacher. This feedback will help them better understand how to approach questions and clarify any reservations they might have about how they answered the questions.

After each assignment has been completed, students will attend a Q&A session in which the teacher will work through the assignment and provide students with tips and tricks on how to better approach certain questions.

Some of the difficult AS Level Statistics topics covered in the course

  • Probability: feel confident in your understanding of probability by learning about the addition and multiplication rules, as well as conditional probability through independent and dependent events.
  • Normal Distribution: understand the basics of normal distribution, the parameters of normal distribution, standardisation, and how to effectively use the normal distribution table.
  • Binomial Distribution: refine your skills in binomial distribution through the understanding of binomial distribution as a concept, and statistical models.
  • Expectation and Variance: delve into the working of expectations and variance by learning about the expectation and variance in binomial distribution and how to find ‘n’.

At the end of this exam preparation course, students will feel confident in their abilities and in statistics as a whole.

How the course works

Throughout the course, students will be provided with past exam papers designed to practice and reinforce the concepts covered in the Cambridge AS Level Statistics exams. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive individualised feedback from the teacher during the online lessons.

Students will also receive a recording of each live lesson, to revisit should they wish to review a specific portion of the lesson.

The first 6 weeks of the course will focus on establishing which problem areas students are facing when completing past papers. After each assessment is completed, the teacher will work through problem areas that arose and provide detailed explanations to help students solve the problems.

The course concludes with a final mock exam, written in test conditions in an online lesson. In the final week, students will receive feedback from the teacher on their final exam and advice on how to prepare for the Cambridge AS Level Statistics exam.
